WOW 2025

At the end of last term, Mrs Philippa Grocott and Ms Kalina Harmer took 25 Year 12 students to Wellington to the WOW - World of Wearable Arts Show.  This international design competition showcases innovative wearable art from around the world.  It was a spectacular show based on the theme ‘Rise’ and was packed with incredibly designed costumes that blend art, fashion, design and costume.  The show was a highly, creative choreographed theatre production with sophisticated lighting, incredible aerial artists and stage technology.  Whilst in Wellington, they visited Massey University -  Fashion and Design School, where Rosa Langridge (a past pupil) who is in her third year of a Fashion and Textiles degree accompanied them.  They also visited Whitecliffe -  another tertiary provider where they looked at their Fashion and Sustainability degree.  Both of these places were inspiring and very informative.  They also managed to fit in some “retail research”  and were able to look over Wellington after going up the Wellington Cable Car.  It was a fabulous and exciting trip enjoyed by all.
