Leavers’ Breakfast

Parents, family and teachers enjoyed the Leavers’ Breakfast held at the Papanui Club this week.  This was an opportunity to be together as the students leave Marian College.  Beautiful memories were shared by Mrs Katy Cowens, speaking for the parents, offering good advice to the students as they embark on the world.

Congratulations to Victoria Russell who was awarded the Year 13 Leavers’ Trophy by her peers.  The award recognises someone who best represents a Marian student.

We look forward to the Leavers’ Ball on Saturday 29 November.

Zonta Sports Awards

Congratulations to Makayla Ruaiti and Charlotte Peterson who were acknowledged at the recent Zonta Sports Awards. Makayla was named the overall winner of Category 2:  contribution by a young woman as a referee in Touch.  Charlotte was highly commended in Category 4:  most outstanding achievement by a young woman in one sport - Rowing.  The Zonta awards are a recognition of the hard work put in by  our sporting students across Canterbury.  This also reflects the support and aroha of our Sport Director Mrs Jess Huia and the families of Makayla and Charlotte.

A big thank you to School Sport Canterbury and the Zonta club of Christchurch South.

Equestrian Success in China
