Winter Sports Tournament week has finished and we had some great results across all sports. 

The Senior A Basketball Team  attended the Southern Cup Tournament in Ashburton and finished runner up in the Girls Grade Final. 

The team had a tight semi-final against Rangi Ruru where Marian came out strong in the final result.  The team faced a slick Waimate High School team in the final who were also undefeated and went close throughout the game. 

This is the first time in many years we have sent a Senior A team away to a tournament and we received a lot of praise from the tournament organisers and other schools competing. 

There is some great potential in this group for the future. 

Thanks to Mr Tyson Huia for coaching the team, Ms Clare Kelly for managing the team and Mrs Jess Huia for all your support to get this team together.  We are very proud of you all.

Senior A Basketball 2nd - Ashburton

Rock Climbing 4th - Christchurch

Equestrian 6th overall - Christchurch

Football 1st XI 8th - Dunedin

Senior A Netball 9th in A Grade - Christchurch

Hockey 1st XI 26th - Hamilton

Badminton - Christchurch

Congratulations to all who participated in tournaments, you should all be so proud of your efforts.  Mahi tika ana (great work, well done).  Also to our coaches, managers, umpires and parent helpers who worked so hard during the week. 

To our departing Year 13s across all teams - your leadership will be missed and we thank you for your service to sports over your time at Marian College.
