Marian Pasifika students recognised for Outstanding Leadership

Recently, the Canterbury Spacpac Collective held their annual leadership breakfast at ARA to acknowledge outstanding Pasifika student leaders from all over Canterbury.  This year Co-Head Pasifika Leaders Tiera Senelale-Musu and Tyrah Filoiiali were acknowledged for their outstanding servant leadership in our Marian College community.

The girls have served faithfully in the Pasifika space for many years at Marian, sharing their time, energy, and expertise through music, dance, at cultural events, through their involvement with Polyfest, and as members of our student executive team.

A highlight of the morning was hearing from keynote speaker Kalameli Tu'ulua, an ex Marian student herself, who shared experiences from her educational and career journey in the area of marketing and business studies.

Key messages included the importance of holding fast to your values whilst pursuing a career in the corporate environment and always being true to your authentic self no matter what you choose to do moving forward.

Her inspirational words resonated with all those present, particularly the Pasifika young people in the audience.

Thank you to Mrs Davidson who attended the breakfast, along with the supporting aiga for both Tiera and Tyrah.  This was the last event for the Spacpac Collective in 2024 and we thank all those involved for their passion and commitment to creating a space where young Pasifika can strive, achieve and be celebrated for their incredible potential.
