Bus Information 2023

Latest Update from Metro

  • Timetables for all Metro buses will be back to normal schedule on Monday 30 January 2023. 
  • The child fare now includes all children under 19. So, people 18 years and younger pay the child fare. On a metrocard this is $1.50 for each ride with a $3 cap/day. As a person’s date of birth is on their card the metrocards will automatically recognise who is eligible for a child fare. 
  • Top up your metrocard. Online is the easiest way and you can setup an automatic top up with a minimum of $10 

Buses available for Marian College students to use on a daily basis are:

Marian College Bus

This special service provided by Ritchies and subsidised by Marian College is for those students living in the East from Queenspark, Prestons via Shirley. The cost of this bus is $4.30 return or $2.80 one way. Metro cards, candocards and cash can be used. 

The bus will begin again on Friday 3 February. Please note times are approximate.

Metro 722 Bus 

Students from North Canterbury and Main North Road use this bus​​​​​​​ run by the Metro bus service. 

​​​​​​​Zone 2 = between schools and Kaiapoi, Rangiora or Pegasus, child fare = $2.15 using metrocard or $3.20 cash per trip.
