The School - General Information

Costs and financial contributions

Every effort is made to limit the costs as far as possible while ensuring that students are provided with a good quality education. Subject contributions and take home material fees are invoiced at the beginning of each year. All other financial contributions are invoiced each term and need to be paid each term. Financial contributions can be paid each term by automatic payment on a weekly / fortnightly / monthly basis. Automatic payment forms are available from the school office. Please note that these figures are subject to regular and at least annual review and may change. The following figures are effective from March 2010.

1) Attendance dues

$67.50 per term ($270 a year) individual
$135 per term ($540 a year) per family

This fee is collected on behalf of the proprietor. All Catholic schools charge attendance dues to all parents and and caregivers who have enrolled their children at a Catholic school. This is payable, unless in special circumstances the charge has been waived by the proprietor of the school for specific issues associated with a family. These figures include GST.

The account is sent out early at the beginning of each term, from the College, and should be paid to the college.

Attendance Dues are authorised under the Private Schools' Conditional Integration Act and are used to pay for costs associated with the land and buildings for the Catholic schools in the diocese.

2) Catholic Education Office financial blankcontribution

$5 per term ($20 a year) individual
$10 per term ($40 a year) per family

In 2011 these figures will double. This financial contribution is tax deductable and collected on behalf of the Catholic Education Office. It is used to assist the Catholic Education Office in their advisory work for Catholic secondary schools throughout the diocese of Christchurch.

$200.00 per term ($800 a year) per family

This financial contribution is tax deductable and is used to supplement activities not covered by the operations grant provided by the Ministry of Education. These include items such as providing additional curriculum resources, subsidising retreats and producing the school magazine.

4) Special character financial
blankcontribution

$25.00 per term ($100 a year) individual
$50.00 per term ($200 a year) per family

c
haracter purposes including the employment of the pastoral chaplain, maintenance of the chapel, and resources for school Masses and liturgies.

blanktake home material fees

This amount varies according to year level and subjects chosen. At the end of each year all parents are sent a comprehensive list of all subject financial contributions and take home material fees for the coming year. These figures include GST.
