House groups
In promoting respect for self and others, Marian College aims to promote and provide a caring environment and community. Instruction and support are given in encouraging our young women to be positive, confident and kind individuals. In order to promote such a school community Marian has adopted a house group system.
Each house group is made up of members with a wide range of ages, from year 9 to year 13.
The house group is an administration and pastoral group. Parents/caregivers should contact their daughter’s house group teacher in the first instance, regarding attendance, progress and any concerns or questions they may have.
The house group creates a close and friendly atmosphere by mixing pupils of different age groups together, enabling seniors to look after juniors, gives seniors an opportunity for responsible leadership and gives house group teachers an opportunity to work with all age groups. Students and teachers generally stay with the same house group until they leave Marian.
