Marian College is a Catholic state integrated school for girls with a maximum roll of 430 students, that combines high academic standards and a progressive approach to modern education. There is a genuine commitment to the values inherent in the traditions of the religious orders of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart and the Sisters of Mercy.

Marian College is fortunate in being able to remain small with a friendly, family atmosphere which comes from teachers and students knowing each other well. Every student at Marian us nurtured and her skills and talents fostered. Students have every opportunity to contribute through participation, service and leadership.

Welcome to Marian College,

We are a  Year 9 -13 Catholic girls school, living out the Gospel values and following the example of Mary, Mother of God. Two remarkable women are also our role models, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Venerable Catherine McAuley. The charisms of the Sisters of Saint Joseph and Sisters of Mercy are at our heart and guide us.  Our aim is to empower our students to be confident, committed and faith filled learners, who will fulfil their potential and contribute to the common good of society.

Our school provides a quality holistic education, with a focus on social justice, sustainability and the value of service to others.  As a smaller family based school, our students are known and supported in their education through a whānau based structure.

Marian College will have a unique new home in Papanui from 2023, which will provide outstanding facilities for our students and the community.  The  new school is an innovative example of sustainable practice,  following Pope Francis’s leadership on the care of our common home. As you explore our website you will gain a sense of our positive and inclusive school culture; Please feel free to make contact if you have any further queries.
